      Hillsborough Celebrates Independence Day
Hillsborough welcomed Independence Day with its annual fireworks celebration, held at Auten Road Intermediate School, on Saturday, June 29. This year, the fireworks celebration was combined with Hillsborough Music Fest to create an even more enjoyable night for attendees.
      
      Bernardsville Farmers Market Showcases Local Vendors
Check out the Bernardsville Farmers Market for an array of fresh produce and local goods. The market has something for everyone with Silver Lake Farms’ fresh-picked fruits and vegetables, Valley Shepherd Creamery’s award-winning cheeses, Baker’s Bounty’s baked goods, Krakus Deli’s polish specialties and Picklelicious pickles. The Market is open every Saturday until November 23rd from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. It is located in the Bernardsville NJ Transit Parking lot on Route 202 and Claremont Road.
      
      MHS Class of 2019 Graduates with Pride
Montgomery High School bade farewell to the Class of 2019 on Monday, June 24th, as the talented, ambitious, and kind students came to the end of their twelve year journey. The graduation ceremony was followed by a reception inside the school filled with laughter, tears, and many, many pictures. Congratulations to the class of 2019!

Montgomery will be celebrating the 4th of July with the annual Montgomery Fireworks on June 27. There will be tasty food, games and activities, and a live band for entertainment for guests of all ages until the fireworks show begins at 9:15 p.m.

Hillsborough High School’s Class of 2019 took their final steps together at the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton on June 20. As Karen Bingert, HHS principal, announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, the Class of 2019,” the energy in the arena quite literally soared along with graduation caps into the air. We wish you the best, HHS Class of 2019, as you take on new adventures!
      
      Hillsborough Cinemas Presents Summer Movie Series
Hillsborough Cinemas is hosting a summer movie series starting this Tuesday. Throwback animated movies will be featured on Tuesday mornings for $1 admission and throwback family friendly movies will be shown on Wednesday nights for $3 admission. The summer movie series is scheduled to run from June 25 through August 13.

      Sourland Conservancy to Host Annual Sourland Mountain Festival

Hillsborough’s annual Independence Day Celebration will be held on Saturday June 29 and festivities will start at 5 p.m. at Auten Road Intermediate School. This year’s celebration has been combined with the Hillsborough Music Fest which will feature a diverse selection of local bands and solo artists.

The Montgomery Farmers Market, sponsored by the Montgomery Friends of Open Space (MFOS), is now open for the summer!! It is held every Saturday through October 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. within the Village Shopper parking area.
      
      HHS Theatre Puts on Shakespeare’s Classic “Romeo and Juliet”
Hillsborough Hight School Theatre performed a new interpretation of William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet” on June 7 and 8. With an abridged script, smaller cast size, and soundtrack accompaniment that helped with the momentum and the plot of the show, spectators were in a for an action-packed night.
      
      Principal Announced for Triangle Elementary School
Anthony Aliperti has been selected as the new principal of Triangle Elementary School in Hillsborough effective August 11. Mr. Aliperti was approved with a unanimous vote at the June 10, 2019, Hillsborough Board of Education meeting.
      
      Aladdin: A Blockbuster for the Whole Family

      MHS Students Put Together First Montgomery Business Festival
The inaugural Montgomery Business Festival (MBF) was hosted by the Montgomery High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) on Saturday, May 18. Students explored their interest in business through various opportunities including workshops, networking, and a pitch contest.
      
      Hillsborough Schools Appoints New Director of Human Resources
Hillsborough Township Public Schools announces the selection of Michael Callahan as the new Director of Human Resources for the school district. Callahan was unanimously approved by the Hillsborough Board of Education at the June 10th meeting and will begin his new position with the district on July 2, 2019.
      
      2 Hillsborough Students Reach National History Day Finals
ARIS students, Nitya Balasubramanian and Ritija Bhargava, earned a place at the national finals with their exhibit titled, “Spanish Invasion of the Americas: Tragedy and Triumph of a Continent.” They attended the event at University of Maryland where other students from around the country showcased their documentaries, websites, performances, and exhibits based on this year’s theme.
