Hillsborough Education Association Press Release Addresses Stalled Contract Negotiations
Following the Hillsborough Board of Education’s rejection of a proposal package that would have allowed both parties to achieve resolution and accomplish mutual goals, the Association declared impasse and has requested the appointment of a mediator by the Public Employment Relations Commission.
Hillsborough's Director of Guidance Named Somerset County School Counselor Of The Year
Jessica Smedley, the Director of Guidance of Hillsborough Township Public Schools, was named the Somerset County School Counselor of the Year 2019. The purpose of the award is to recognize school counselors for their achievements as well as for outstanding service to their school communities. School counselors are nominated for this honor by their colleagues and selected by the SCSCA members.
CWF Summer Camp for Young Wildlife Explorers
The Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ Summer Camp is now open to young explorers 8-13 years old. The popular Wildlife Explorers Summer Program at Duke Farms is a STEAM program for kids entering 3rd to 8th grade (ages 8-13 years). It encourages kids to connect with and explore the outdoors.

2/19 Hillsborough Voter Registration Deadline for School Referendum
Hillsborough residents who are not currently registered to vote are reminded that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming March 12, 2019, school referendum is February 19, 2019. Residents will be asked to vote on Hillsborough Township Public Schools’ plan to invest in the future of the district by implementing a full-day kindergarten program as well as assisting the Board in laying out a plan for long-term financial stability.
