On April 4, 2019, the staged alcohol-related car crash took students on a chilling, realistic journey showing them the repercussions and aftermath of the accident including court room events and memorial service.

Following the Hillsborough Board of Education’s rejection of a proposal package that would have allowed both parties to achieve resolution and accomplish mutual goals, the Association declared impasse and has requested the appointment of a mediator by the Public Employment Relations Commission.

Jessica Smedley, the Director of Guidance of Hillsborough Township Public Schools, was named the Somerset County School Counselor of the Year 2019. The purpose of the award is to recognize school counselors for their achievements as well as for outstanding service to their school communities. School counselors are nominated for this honor by their colleagues and selected by the SCSCA members.

HHS students in both Fenster’s and Longo’s classes will pursue independent research, engage in debate, and discuss ideas surrounding 14th Amendment issues in American history after 1877.

The negotiations stalled over salary increases, longevity, employee health insurance contributions, restructuring of the existing work year to allow for additional teacher training and student orientation, the workday scheduled for part-time staff and tuition reimbursement.

Hillsborough Township Public Schools will hold kindergarten & CAP registration for the 2019-2020 school year weekdays from April 8-12, 2019, and April 15-18.

At the February 11, 2019, Hillsborough Board of Education meeting, Dr. Jorden Schiff’s Superintendent Report included a presentation by several early education teachers and administrators. The presenters discussed the changes that have occurred over the last 20 years in regards to what is expected of our youngest learners as well as the social and academic benefits a full-day kindergarten program would provide to incoming Hillsborough students.
