Hillsborough Parks & Recreation Conducting Survey On Summer Camp Options
Hillsborough Township Parks and Recreation Department has released a Summer Camp 2020 (Covid-19) Survey to help them determine the next steps.

We write this email today to confirm how we are all anxious and eager as to when we will be receiving information pertaining to the operation of summer camps and in general, the resumption of organized group activities.
To bring everyone to speed, we are currently awaiting guidance from a handful of parties such as the state of New Jersey, CDC as well as local health and Emergency Management as it pertains to camp operations, as well as what required regulations will need to be implemented.
While we await information from New Jersey, many states have already released guidelines such as;
Camper/Staff Temperature check at arrival (Must be under 99.5 to enter)
Lowered camper capacities
Lowered camper/counselor ratio
Shortened camp hours
No field trips
No lunches offered for purchase
Camp must be outdoors
Essential personnel children only
Campers required to stay with the same, small set of campers/counselors each day
Face masks required
Again, these are not regulations for New Jersey, but a collaboration of rules and regulations from other states across the country that have already released their guidelines.
As part of the New Jersey Parks & Recreation Association, we are able to monitor the status of New Jersey Municipalities decisions and thoughts in regards to summer programming. Below are the up to date results as of May 15, 2020.
50% - Currently moving forward with regularly scheduled programs, though awaiting guidance from NJ.
14.9% - Postponed all summer start dates
14.9% - All summer programs are canceled
12.8% - Postponed some programs, canceled others
7.4% - All programs will be held virtually
